DOGIZ UK Ltd. develops a mobile application that enables dog owners to stay connected with their local dog community. Dogiz is a Data Controller for the purpose of processing your personal data on our website and through our app. Dogiz is registered as a Data Controller with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): .
Lawful basis for processing
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK Data Protection Act 2018 Dogiz is a Data Controller in relation to processing your personal data.
Dogiz relies on legitimate interests for processing any biographical data (such as your name and address) in order to provide access to our online service. If you have signed up with Facebook we rely on legitimate interests to process the personal data related to the biographical information you provide on social media sites.
For marketing purposes, we are in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), using a soft-opt in during the registration process, providing you with an opt-out at the point of sign-up, and an option to unsubscribe from our communications at any time.
The personal data we collect from you
Under the lawful basis of legitimate interests, when you register to use the Dogiz service we collect the following information from you: your name, address, email and phone number, gender and information about your dog. If you sign up through your social media account, we will be able to view your profile.
When you submit your financial information for payment purposes, you will be redirected to a secure PCI DSS-compliant site (ZOOZ).
Under the lawful basis of legitimate interests, we also use your data for marketing purposes. Dogiz operates an email marketing programme, used to inform users about products and services supplied. You will be automatically added to our marketing database unless you opt-out at the point of submitting your personal details via the registration process. You will have the option to unsubscribe from any further marketing communication from Dogiz in each subsequent email.
The Dogiz service uses your location data to provide a location-based service. This data is collected through the Google Maps API and the Apple Maps API.
Who we share your personal data with
Once you have signed up to the Dogiz service your details will be passed to an Area Manager who assigns you a dog walker/sitter/day care/boarding. Your personal details will be shared with the assigned person, who operate as a Data Processor.
How long we keep your personal data for
Dogiz retains your personal data for the use of our service and app until you request the deletion of your account.
In relation to your contact details that we use for marketing communications, we retain this data until you unsubscribe from our emails, or at the point where you request deletion of your account.
You have the right to request access to the data we hold on you free of charge (unless the request is for multiple copies).
You also have the right to request the correction of your personal data if you can demonstrate that it is inaccurate or out-of-date.
You have an absolute right to request that we stop using your data for direct marketing at any time.
