Dogiz Privacy Notice
DOGIZ UK Ltd. develops a mobile application that enables dog owners to stay connected with their local dog community.
Dogiz is a Data Controller for the purpose of processing your personal data on our website and through our app. Dogiz is registered with the regulator for data protection in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), with registration number 11230048.
The personal data we collect from you and the purpose of use
When you register to use the Dogiz service we collect the following information from you to create an account: your name, address, email and phone number, gender and information about your dog. We will only request payment information if you book a service.
If you sign up through your social media account, we will be able to view and process personal data from your profile including: basic information such as your name, image/photo, date of birth, and city of residence. We process this information for a range business purposes which we deem pivotal for the functioning, the customer service and the enhancement of the experience from the App.
If you choose to share the app with friends, Dogiz will also access your Device’s contact list in order to check whether any of your contacts are registered users of the App.
Lawful basis for processing
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Dogiz is required to inform you of the lawful basis that we use for the processing of your personal data.
The lawful basis for the processing of personal data to create an account with the Dogiz service is in order to enter into a contract of service with you.
If you have signed up with Facebook we rely on legitimate interests to process the personal data related to the biographical information you provide on social media sites.
Use of personal data for email marketing
For direct marketing purposes, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we use a soft-opt in during the registration process. If you do not opt-out from the Dogiz email marketing programme, your personal data will be used to inform you about products and services supplied. You will be automatically added to our marketing database unless you opt-out.
You will have the option to unsubscribe from any further marketing communication from Dogiz in each subsequent email.
Use of location data
The Dogiz service uses your location data to provide a location-based service. This data is collected through the Google Maps API and the Apple Maps API.
Who we share your personal data with
Once you have signed up to the Dogiz service your details will be passed to an Area Manager who assigns you a dog walker/sitter/day care/boarding. Your personal details will be shared with the assigned person, who operate as a Data Processor.
How long we keep your personal data for
Dogiz retains your personal data for the use of our service and app until you request the deletion of your account.
In relation to your contact details that we use for marketing communications, we retain this data until you unsubscribe from our emails, or at the point where you request deletion of your account.
The security of payment card information
When you submit your financial information for payment purposes, you will be redirected to a secure PCI DSS-compliant site (ZOOZ).

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for access to and copies of your personal data and information on how we process your personal data.
Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal data you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete personal data you think is incomplete. You may also at any time review or update personal data that we hold about you by signing in your account on our website.
Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal data in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal data you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising any of your rights. If you make a request, we will respond to you within 30 days.
When we receive any requests we may first need to take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting you access or otherwise taking any action. This is important to safeguard your information.
